About the S-Rating
The Sustainability Rating (S-Rating) assesses our suppliers’ sustainability performances. The basis for the S-Rating is the Code of Conduct for Business Partners . The S-Rating is determined by the score in the Sustainability Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ). Additionally, the result of an On-Site Check is considered, if it was performed at your site. The rating is determined site-based and is valid for sites with a headcount of 10 or more. Company sites with less than 10 employees can get an exception from the S-Rating. The required steps are explained here.
Additionally, independent of the check with the SAQ and On-Site Check, a so-called Business Partner Due Diligence check (BPDD) is required for selected suppliers. The BPDD is an anti-corruption and integrity check. It is only required if you receive respective information directly from Volkswagen Group.
In general a positive S-Rating is required for doing business with Volkswagen Group including its brands and regions. All entities of Volkswagen Group follow the same S-Rating process. A video on the process and additional information can also be found on Audi‘s webpage .
In general, the SAQ is relevant for all suppliers. Especially for those, who have a production site and/or supply machinery or tools as well as for suppliers from the areas of catering, cleaning services, logistics, construction, waste management, energy, chemicals, software development, personal protective equipment and scrapping. If you are not sure whether the S-Rating is relevant for your company site, please contact us via s-rating@vwgroupsupply.com.
