You only need to have a PC with Internet access and a DUNS number for each location.
| | | 5. What does the use of VW Group Supply.com cost? | | | | | | For the registration or the use of the applications and information services you have been authorised for, the Volkswagen Group does not impose any costs. | | | 8. Who has access to the supplier database within the Volkswagen Group? | | | | | | VW Group Supply.com is an initiative of the Volkswagen Group and thus it concerns basic supplier-related business processes in procurement, quality control, logistics or technical development. Why did Volkswagen Group decide to create a private supplier platform in the B2B area instead of joining a public one? | | | | | | Joining a public initiative generally means that numerous participants have to find the "lowest common denominator" and thus the own processes cannot be displayed in a satisfactory way any more. Thus the Volkswagen Group decided to create a private Supplier platform in order to further optimise the already established processes between you and us via Internet. In this way we want to guarantee a more transparent and efficient collaboration. Furthermore we want to be sure that sensitive data are only exchanged between your and our company. | | | | | | |

By using the User Management System the administrator can control all users of your company and assign them roles and rights for the applications and information services. In this way each user receives his personal access data for our Supplier platform. The registrar needs to type in some personal master data like name, surname, address, telephone and fax number, e-mail address and business unit. It is also important that you register each location with an own DUNS number.
| | | 5. What costs do I have when using the supplier platform? | | | | | | For the registration and use of VW Group Supply.com the Volkswagen Group does not impose any costs. The only costs are your costs for Internet use. | | | | | | |

D&B has the largest company database available, with information on 75 million companies worldwide from more than 200 countries and 150 000 customers. With this database companies can administrate and assign their customers and suppliers much better. The DUNS number which is also used by the United Nations, the European Commission and the ISO plays a key role. The Duns number is a nine character identification key which is valid worldwide and has global standards and a central administration.
| | | 8. Where can I apply for a DUNS number and what does it cost? | | | | | | To apply for a DUNS number please contact Dun & Bradstreet directly. Further information about applying for your DUNS number, as well as address and telephone number you will find on the Internet at www.dnb.com or dbgermany.dnb.com. | | | | | | |
| | | 9. Who has to apply for a DUNS number? | | | | | | Separate D&B D-U-N-S Numbers can be assigned to single locations, parents, subsidiaries, headquarters and branches. If a branch operates in the same location as its headquarters, it will have a different DUNS Number, provided its operations are distinct and separate. | | | | | | |
| | | 10. What functions do the registrar and the administrator have? | | | | | | The registrar is the person in your company who initialises the registration process of your company or location with its own DUNS number. This process starts when you click on "Team up with us". Details about the complete registration process you will find in Answer 1 of this FAQ category. After a successful plausibility check performed by us and the automatic assigning and sending of an UserID and an initial password, the registrar accesses the protected area of our platform by clicking on "Login". In the protected area he needs to do next two steps towards the complete registration. These steps are the electronic signature of the B2B Framework Contract including the naming of an administrator and the initial completion of the Supplier database by the registrar. The initial completion only includes basic master data of your company. The fields are marked with a red asterisk. In the course of the registration you decide whether your registrar will also become your administrator, i.e. that he is responsible for the entire user management in your company concerning VW Group Supply.com. This is not necessarily the case. If you name an other person during the confirmation of the B2B Framework Contract, your registrar will loose his rights to access the protected area of the platform with his access data. Of course the administrator can reassign all roles and rights to him later via our User Management System. The basic tasks though of the administrator are creating/deleting users, activating/deactivating users or assigning/revoking of roles. Additionally the administrator can reset the passwords of the users. | | | | | | |

This includes your DUNS number, your complete company name, including the sort of company, a central telephone and fax number and e-mail address and a short description of your ability range. By clicking "Next", you will access another online-form about your personal information, which you need to fill out, too. Additionally to your full name you need to enter your personal telephone number, e-mail address and your date of birth as well as the last three characters of your ID card or passport number. By clicking "Submit", you will send the registration to Volkswagen. After sending the registration, you will receive a confirmation via e-mail that we have received your data and will check it for plausibility now. You should keep the registration number included in this e-mail. It is an alternative to your DUNS number if you contact our B2B Helpdesk.
